No Animal Testing and Ethical Policy in Hair Colour
Most big brands remain to test on animals for all of their products. Smart Beauty’s message is clear: We do NOT test on animals and believe it is no longer necessary for cosmetic companies to test products in this way.
§ We use high-performance, innovative formulations with carefully selected natural ingredients that take care of the hair (organic certified ingredients and other natural sources including vitamins E&C).
§ We use environmentally friendly packaging, which is all 100% recyclable, including non-PVC mixing trays and sustainable sourced cardboard packaging.
§ All components are sourced in Europe in order to reduce our carbon footprint for environmental conservation.
§ Additionally, we support various charities and are now THE ONLY Hair Colouring Brand to be certified by The BUAV (British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection) and listed in The Little Book of Cruelty Free. This is a book produced to help like minded consumers find companies such as Smart Beauty which offer products that have not been tested on animals throughout the manufacturing process. They work very closely with the BUAV to support this cause.

To help you identify cruelty free products, look out for the leaping bunny logo on product packaging.
This logo appears on many cosmetics and household products whose manufacturers are approved under the Humane Cosmetics Standard or the Humane Household Products Standard. This is your guarantee that a product — and its ingredients — have not been tested on animals.
About Cruelty Free Products
The Go Cruelty Free initiative was developed by the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV), with the ultimate aim of ending cosmetics and household products testing on animals worldwide.
What They Do
This initiative contributes to the BUAV's wider vision of creating a world where nobody wants or believes we need to experiment on animals. Through undercover investigations, political lobbying, legal and scientific expertise and media activities, we work tirelessly to make the world a better place for animals.
How Go Cruelty Free Came About
In 1996 the BUAV joined a global coalition of animal protection groups from Europe and North America. This coalition recognised that statements made by companies claiming their products are not animal tested can often be misleading, causing considerable confusion among consumers. For example, product packaging may state 'This product has not been tested on animals.' However, even though an end product may well be free from animal testing, the individual ingredients may not.
So it makes sense to use a reputable, ethical, safe hair colouring for your requirements. Smart Beauty is the award winning market leader- and the even better news is that their products are very competitively priced. You can see for yourself at the Smart Beauty Online Shop .
